UNEXPECTED … When Life Comes Suddenly!

Today, I had a wonderful, very unexpected thing happen to me.

In my case, my surprise was very positive and added it’s own increased joy! Honestly, I have had a lot of those kinds of events and moments.

I have also had very challenging unexpected things come my way.

I remember very well April, 1994 when I, at 39 years of age, learned that I had thyroid cancer. The surgeon who did what we hoped would a simple removal of a cyst, confirmed that he had discovered and removed a cancerous tumor and that the cancer was not contained.

UNEXPECTED … When Life Comes Suddenly!

The truth is, that we will meet all kinds of unexpected shocks and surprises. Most of them are minor, but sometimes, they can be life-shaking events.

Most people like to be in control of their lives and are more at ease when things happen in a positive, predictable kind of way. However, life is full of surprises and no matter how hard we try we can not alter that reality.

UNEXPECTED … When Life Comes Suddenly!

Here are three (3) powerful principles offered by Remez Sasson that can help us:

▪ Acknowledge and learn to accept that surprises and unexpected events are part of life and are unavoidable. When you accept this fact, to some extent, it will be easier to deal with whatever happens in your life.
▪ Change is part of life, and the sooner you acknowledge and accept this fact, the better it would be. Life is dynamic, not static!
▪ The key to everything is your attitude. A positive attitude is an asset in unexpected situations.
Not all unexpected events are negative. Sometimes, what seems like a problem, or even a disaster, could be a blessing in disguise. A negative event can awaken ambition, motivation, and persistence, which would lead to progress and success.

UNEXPECTED … When Life Comes Suddenly!

Life is full of surprises and shocks … and that is a reality that we simply have to learn to deal with in a proactive kind of way.

The truth is, the sooner we take this on, the better it for us on every level … so let’s take it on and get it right!

I am in … how about you?
