I have an annual staff meeting every year … with my wife!

It’s not because we struggle … quite the contrary … it is because we want to succeed … and stay on mission.

The intent is to provide clarity … which for us means, ” taking the time to redefine our primary commitments and to renew our devotion to live them out passionately.”

Ruthanne and I have done ministry together from the very beginning of our married life. We accepted our first ministry assignment three months after we were married. I was a full-time student, we both had full-time jobs … and then we took on a ministry assignment.

We had no idea at the time that this would become a life pattern for us.

From that first ministry assignment in 1974 until now, we have served 45 years in full-time ministry … in 3 US states and four European countries.

We have engaged in a variety of ministry roles and many times we have filled several of them simultaneously.

We have come to believe that our lives are His to command …. and whatever we do, we do with all of our might.

The truth is that chaos, confusion and complex situations are often the constant companions for those who choose to live in this way … and it is only clarity that can counter all of these things.

This is an important truth to take on.

Like any strategic discipline … gaining clarity requires a time commitment, a personal investment, and a relentless pursuit. If we are willing to do these things, we will live with piercing clarity.

We can clearly know what we want to do, why we want to do it and how we will get things done.

Clarity does away with living carelessly or casually … and brings us to a place of deep conviction where we know that we are consumed with a holy passion and that we are fulfilling His purposes in every way.

All of this because we make one solid decision …
