When We Sow A Seed In The Heart Of Another, We Also Plant A Seed In Our Own Hearts!

Michelle du Toi in her article “How To Sow Seed” reminds us that “sowing seed is a lifestyle choice and sowing generously is the standard we use for harvest.”

Sowing and reaping … this simple statement is at the core of it all!

The call that we have been given is to sow the seed. The joy of our salvation is in sowing the seed. The only way we can grow is if we sow.

Clearly, this is the pivotal message of Jesus … but we also see it referenced throughout the scriptures … both Old and New Testament.

All of this is absolutely and eternally true … it is a lifestyle choice and one that comes with great promise and potential blessing beyond anything that we could ever imagine.

Here is one of those unexpected blessings!

Think about this!

Whatever we are sowing in others is being planted in us. We sow seeds of joy, kindness and hope in others and their lives are changed as this seed begins to bear fruit in them. We see the change and we celebrate the faithfulness of the Father.

As great as that is … there is more happening!

These seeds, sown in others, are also planted in our hearts and in due season we will see joy, kindness, and hope coming alive in us.

Here is what we come to know … in actively engaging in what blesses others, we do what builds us. This is a kingdom principle that will not and can not fail!

So, it will be critical that we are … attentive to the seed that we sow
and that we assure that sowing becomes an everyday endeavor.

We must be keenly aware of the need to scatter the seed and always assume that this is the mission.

Michelle goes on to say this, “If your life is stuck, if you are not flourishing where you are, look at your attitude regarding sowing. Are you sowing often, lots of seeds, varied seeds, with an expectation in the Lord for a harvest?”

Well … are we?

This is a guaranteed win-win … so we dare not delay!

I am all in … and you?
