People Will Remember You For The Problems You Create Or The Problems You Solve … So Solve Problems!
Those who know me well know that I value well-crafted communication.

Words that are concise and clear create messaging that is accurate and articulate. Everything is more exacting and empowering when an effort has been made to ensure the efficacy of the language that is put in play.

I am so drawn to this that I intentionally invest in crafting quotes that I hope will become maxims … words that are so well-spoken that they become a part of me. My desire is to use them to comfort others, to correct concerning issues and to do creative problem-solving.

Years ago, I listened to Pastor Jim Bradford share a story about his dad who was always faithfully committed to his pastor and his church. Because of his professional expertise and skill, he was often promoted and transferred … and every time their family had to move, it created as deep sense of loss for the church and the pastor.

You see, Jim’s dad was always engaged in serving alongside his pastor and in standing with him … no matter what. He was a friend to the pastor and he was commited to solving problems, not creating them.

I believe that it was in this message that Pastor Jim used this phrase and I have held on to it since I first heard it spoken …

Perfectly spoken isn’t it … and these are words that we need to process into our hearts … and once we do that, we need to make a decision to go all in and be positive, practicing, proactive problem-solvers.

Michelle Roya Rad in her article, ’10 Characteristics of Good Problem Solvers’, says this … “Good problem solvers have less drama and problems to begin with and they don’t get overly emotional when faced with a problem. They usually see problems as challenges and they try to stand above them, objectively.”

Great counsel here for us!

What we do know is that when we are committed to take this position, we do become effective problem-solvers and that is a game-changer for us … and for those we serve!
