When Problems Persist … Pursue Peace!

I think all of us understand the presence of problems as being a quite normal part of our life experience. We are prepared for a certain level of difficulty, our fair share of challenges … but none of us are ready for an onslaught of obstacles or a tsunami of trouble.

I am currently walking with some individuals who are experiencing this crushing kind of moment. Trouble is not just simply visiting them, it is camping out around them.

It is relentless, ruining their strength and robbing them of their joy.

I seek to find words that speak hope and here is what I am regularly repeating …

When Problems Persist … Pursue Peace!
There is great spiritual and practical wisdom in sharing this reality with others. When under the stress of a sinister situation we do need a diversion, a shift in our focus. We need relief and some kind of release to break us free! It is the pursuit of peace that puts trouble in its proper place.

When Problems Persist … Pursue Peace!
The fact of the matter is that we can not create peace by ourselves, nor can we craft pathways of peace. We are prisoners to our problems and desperately need peace to be spoken to us and over us.

Here are the words of Jesus that speak so clearly, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you: not as the world gives. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” (John 14:27)

When Problems Persist … Pursue Peace!
The promise of peace and the provision for it to be ours are both clearly revealed in these words.
He is our peace, so in seeking after Him (Jesus), we will find that problems are pushed away.

Peace has come, perfect peace, that covers us and carries us!

I need this, my friends long for this and I want this for you, for them and for me … I really, really do!
