Staying Relationally Connected … Supplies Strength And Support For Our Life Journey Relational connection is a big deal!

When we have it, we thrive and when do not we will literally struggle to survive.

The truth is, we were made for relational connection.

In the act of creation God Himself made it clear that He crafted us to be relational beings. We were to be intimately connected to Him and to others.

We simply were not made to be alone!

This is a matter of high value to Him … and thus it should be for us as well!

Staying Relationally Connected … Supplies Strength And Support For Our Life Journey

We are reminded throughout the scriptures to establish healthy connections with God and with man … and we learn of the benefits of being rightly connected and the burden that comes if we ignore this wise counsel.

Perhaps Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (NIV) describes this best …

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor:

If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

These verses make it quite clear that healthy relationships build us up, bring us exceptional favor and bless us immeasurably.

In her article, “Made For Relationship”, Millie Welch makes this point for us, “Much of what we’re to gain, learn and experience from healthy relationships reflects the kind of connection God wants to have with us. He shows us glimpses of Himself through some of the people He puts in our lives.”

This is the standard of measure … our relational connections are to reflect what God wants with us! Honestly, this is the kind of relationship that supplies strength and support for our life journey.

Millie adds one more clarifying reality for us, “Not only that, but you and I can also be a tangible expression of God’s love for people through how we interact with, connect with and care for them through our relationships. What a cool — even overwhelming — reality!”

When our relational connections reflect what God desires with us then our relational connections with others will be a tangible expression of God’s love … how great is that!

This combination is what provides us with all that is needed to make relational connections so meaningful and moving!

Here is what we can also come to know …

Staying relationally connected …

▪ shows our commitment to doing life together
▪ sharpens our character
▪ speaks to our desire to hear the voice of others
▪ shapes our perspective
▪ spoils the impact of isolation
▪ strengthens our resolve

This is what I want to see happening in my life! Now more than ever, we need this reality to be dynamically at work in our lives.

I know I am in … and you!
