Always Be Quick To Speak Up For What Is Right … For Those Who Desperately Need Help And For Those Who Deserve To Be Honored

Always Be Quick To Speak Up For What Is Right … For Those Who Desperately Need Help And For Those Who Deserve To Be Honored

A voice of reason and a voice of reconciliation are always welcomed … even in the midst of great conflict and chaos.

It is important to note the qualifiers here … and to fully know how to craft welcomed voices of reason and reconciliation. Sadly, in moments of great conflict what we often hear are voices that are tinged with tones of revenge and retaliation.

Defending those who desperately need our help, as well as giving honor to those who deserve honor, provides balance … and makes us fully obedient to the Lord.

Proverbs 31:9 reminds us that we are to, “Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy” Similarly, there are several scriptures that remind us to give honor where/when honor is due.

So, we advocate and we celebrate!

We defend and we declare … and in doing this we please the Lord. Then, with our actions, we put into play all that is needed to bring both help and healing.

We need God’s wisdom and His rich grace to know just what to say. His words, spoken in His way will be received as words of life … and they will bring favor and blessing.

I think these words from 1 Peter 3 help us to know what our position should be when we speak up, “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.” (I Peter 3:15-16)

GotQuestions.org is a ministry of dedicated and trained servants who have a desire to assist others in their understanding of God, Scripture, salvation, and other spiritual topics.

Here is how they define and describe this passage for us, “The command to always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have, presupposes a faith that causes us to live out our hope in Christ visibly before others. We need to be prepared to share the gospel in a way that is gentle and respectful.”

Then _1 Peter 2 we are reminded that we should always, “Show proper respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers, reverence God, honor the King” (1Peter 2:17)._

There’s no place for harshness or disrespect … because in developing the discipline of giving honor we nurture the essence of “holy connection and healthy culture”.

This is our focused aim and full desire.

We are called to speak up … and it is tragic to go silent, when in fact, something should be said.

In James 4:17, we are reminded that if we know to do good and we do not react/respond … we fail on every level … and all that could have been seen and known is lost with us.

Truly, we should think about this!

I know our world needs this message, so I want to go all-in … and you?
