There is no doubt that all of us will have our share of challenging days.
While we do not have the power to eliminate these moments from our lives, we do have the possibility to do more than just endure them.
In Christ, we have the potential to enjoy them knowing that He is with us and is working all things for our good.
It is when we embrace this position and engage in fully securing it for ourselves that we begin to experience the glorious goodness of our God.
Here is the timeless truth that I want to share with you,
When We Live Christ-centered And Focused On Our Future … We Become Better People
When we treat temporary troubles as if they are eternal entanglements we set ourselves up for unnecessary suffering and struggle.
This is why being Christ-centered and focused on our future is so critical for us. Our hearts will be spiritually healthy and hopeful and this will empower our spirits to soar … and rise above every challenge or snare.
This very message is the resounding theme of the book of Philippians.
I love this description from Pastor Charles Swindoll, “Though we all have much to be thankful for, the pace and the pressure of life will often squeeze the joy from us. Our shoulders slumped and our heads bowed, we find some days—or months—very difficult to get through. Desperate, we often search for joy in all kinds of ways—acquiring possessions, visiting places, or seeing people. But none of these can provide lasting joy. Where do you find joy in the midst of a trying circumstance? Paul knew, as did the Philippians, that true joy comes only through humble faith in the saving work of Jesus Christ, joining ourselves in harmony with His followers, and serving others in the name of Christ. This was the life experienced by the Philippian believers, and it is a life available to us today.
What a great word of exhortation and encouragement to us … and what a resounding endorsement for the call that we are considering as well!
When We Live Christ-centered And Focused On Our Future … We Become Better People
This is such an amazing opportunity … and it truly changes everything!
▪ Our choices are intentional rather than impulsive
▪ Our covenants are carefully crafted rather than casual
▪ Our core values are sacred rather than self-serving
▪ Our convictions are solid rather than shaky
▪ Our conversations are uplifting rather than undercutting
▪ Our collaboration is proactive rather than problematic
All of this opens the way for us to find great joy in living for Christ, knowing Him more intimately, and serving Him humbly and honorably.
We live life as He desires it to be and those connected to us will flourish!
When We Live Christ-centered And Focused On Our Future … We Become Better People
I know this is true … and I believe that it is timely for all of us!
Let’s say yes to this … and enjoy all that it will bring to us!
