Living with hopeful expectation is what allows us to engage and experience the fulness of life as God intends it to be.
The apostle Paul actually prays for this to be a reality for the church at Ephesus and ultimately for all of us. I would encourage you to read all of Ephesians 3 but here is the crowning glory of Paul’s prayer.
“And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:18,19)
Clearly, this is a call to receive all that God has provided and to live in the fullness of all that has been given.
It is important to note that Paul divided this letter into two equal segments with this clear message. It is in applying the truths of the first three chapters that make it possible to live out all that is presented to us in the final three chapters.
With this in mind, it makes Paul’s words at the end of chapter 3 all the more significant.
These are words of challenge and of calling and here is the focus we are seeking …

In reality, this lingering possibility becomes our lifelong passion.
In their book, “Soul Purpose: Making a Difference in Life and Work” the contributors provide us with powerful language that we do want to process and put into play.
“Human beings want – we need – our lives to count for something. We want them to be significant. Frustratingly, we end up thinking that this level of meaning and significance is simply the preserve of a fortunate few heroes who may have “seized the moment” and lived out what they were made for. But for the rest of us, stuck firmly in everyday life, there are no such paths to glory.
The truth is that God has called us. Called us! This is our destiny – to discover how we can turn God’s purpose for us into a reality, in the way we live and work. God’s calling is not simply to work in a particular job or profession. Clearly, He rates us astonishingly highly – and that high regard is quite independent of anything we might do or achieve.
First and foremost, He values us simply for being us. As far as God is concerned, we all have real intrinsic worth.”
Powerful language indeed … and this is how we discover what God’s fullness is truly intended to be!

▪ Follow the Father faithfully
▪ Trust and take bold steps
▪ Take on every challenge without fear
▪ Dare to believe that nothing is impossible
▪ Dig in and do more
