There is no doubt that 2020 will be defined as a “year of uncertainty”.
We are dealing with an unknown reality and we are entirely unsure as to what the real outcome will be.
We were not forewarned and we are not following a proven formulated plan of action. We have very few absolutes to work with and we are facing a whole lot of unanswered questions.
One thing that we do know is this …
Things Have Never Been So Unknown And Unsure … Even Still, We Will Choose To Believe His Best
We are clearly not in control and thus we are not comfortable. There is an awareness of our true fragility and of our utter helplessness.
While we can say that these days are unique in many ways, we also know that generations before us faced times of great trouble … and what we consistently see is that sincere awareness leads to a true spiritual awakening.
Historically, we can see this pattern emerging … and we know that the scriptures reveal that times of great suffering resulted in moments of great visitation and outstanding victories.
One can study the great revival moments of the past and see that every movement was born out of a time of trouble.
Then look at the scriptures … so many words of promise and admonition for us …
“So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord, your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)
“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea.” (Psalm 46:1)
“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
We have seen this again and again … so the call to us today is to stand strong and secure in the knowledge that we too, will see the salvation of our God.
Things Have Never Been So Unknown And Unsure … Even Still, We Will Choose To Believe His Best
I know these days are testing us … and our hearts can easily be troubled and our peace can be disturbed.
I want to leave you with this wonderful promise … “The Lord gives His people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace” (Psalm 29:11)
All that we face is beyond us for sure … but we must remember that everything is under the authority of our God.
Things Have Never Been So Unknown And Unsure … Even Still, We Will Choose To Believe His Best
In Him, we will have our victory!
I believe!!!
