When I first began to think about “anxious moments” the coronavirus was the furthest thing from my mind. However, I am sure that it is now on the “trouble list” for many of us.
Let me tell you why!
My “trouble list” is comprised of things that threaten me or test me at some level … and simply will not take no for an answer.
The pressure they create, the pain they cast upon us and their persistent, relentless pursuit … make them Enemy #1 … or at least, so it seems.
We all know that anxiety disturbs our peace, devours our perspective and drives us out of the presence of everything and everyone that promotes life.
While all of this is true … there is another reality that comes into play.
Anxious Moments Are Always Moments Of Awakening!
We all know that anxiety has a powerfully negative impact … the question is, “Could there also be a positive side?”
The negative impact has many in our world living on the edge of disabling panic, crippled by fear and living either greatly diminished lives or dependent on some kind of external support.
It is quite clear that feelings of anxiety have always hindered the heart and mind of man.
The scriptures speak often about anxiety .. and in many cases, it links the pain of anxiety with a positive impact.
Proverbs 12:25 declares, “Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.”
Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
1 Peter 5:7 invites us to, “Cast all our anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
So, the negative realities of life can lead us to positive change.
We do not have to reel under the deadly impact of anxiety we can indeed be raised to life and live with a renewed mind … and a heart awakened by the Spirit of God.
When we are locked down by anxiety … remember …
Anxious Moments Are Always Moments Of Awakening!
Let’s keep this reality always in front of us!
Everything changes when we are able to allow God to turn our anxiety to awakening.
Anxious moments are always moments of awakening when we can …
▪ face our fears and move beyond them
▪ accept the challenge to change
▪ acknowledge our fragility and find His strength
▪ discover who we are really living for
▪ learn more about ourselves .. for better or for worse
▪ discover just how great God really is
So much good can come from what many would write off as being entirely bad!
Anxious Moments Are Always Moments Of Awakening!
It is biblical, it is a real option that we can engage … and when we do, we will see immediate changes.
What a difference this will make!
I am all in … and you?
