Taking A Righteous Stand And Holding Our Ground … Both Are Required Of Us!
We are living in a world that is increasingly divided … on almost every front. We see that division on display … in brutal power struggles among the nations, in internal politics and in personal relationships.
It seems that points of agreement are at risk and negotiation and collaboration are increasingly rare.
As true as all of this is, it does not take away from this mandated responsibility …
Taking A Righteous Stand And Holding Our Ground … Both Are Required Of Us!
Taking a righteous stand does not mean that we weaponize our opinions.
It is not our opportunity to pontificate our personal agenda, or to forcibly interject our voice.
In fact, it is not about us at all.
We stand and we speak to demonstrate and declare the rightness of God. We share His Words and we seek to make Him known and seen, in all that we do.
Holding our ground is not about building a bastion of bigotry.
It is about carefully crafting a foundation that allows us to build an ark of safety that men can run into. We proclaim the Word of the Lord and present Christ to all men.
Taking A Righteous Stand And Holding Our Ground … Both Are Required Of Us!
It is to this that we are called and as we are faithful to do these things, we will become those who will redeem and restore. Our presence will be cherished in the eyes of our God and welcomed in a more desirable way.
There is no doubt that in doing this …
▪ It will take its toll on us and at the same time build us up
▪ It will directly define us and at the same time set us apart
▪ It will develop our maturity and at the same time provide us with unique opportunities
Taking A Righteous Stand And Holding Our Ground … Both Are Required Of Us!
It is quite clear that in deeply troubled times this is where we want to be. We are at our best when we live at this level which is why this is a “mandated responsibility”. that we do want to take on.
Challenging as it may be … I say yes and pray that you will join me in saying the same.
