I love Proverbs!

Over the years I have varied my Bible reading plan with the intent of making it meaningful and to provide a method for continuing to garner the wisdom that I know is present.

One thing that I always enjoyed were the times when I was reading the book of Proverbs every month. A chapter a day provided great insight, instruction and inspiration. I love that actually and it remains my preferred option!

Proverbs chapters 11-15 are a unique collection of the scriptures. There really is no connected theme but rather they are a compilation of stand-alone declarations of wisdom. Many are written in a specific form of poetry that builds around contrasts and you will see that often in this section of the scriptures.

I love these chapters and I do recommend them to others who are seeking to grow in the wisdom of the Lord.

Recently I read Proverbs 15:23 again and I was captured by what it proclaims to us, “An appropriate answer brings joy to a person, and a well-timed word is a good thing.” (International Standard Version)

Don’t you love it when you say the right thing – in the right way – at just the right time?

There is nothing more powerful, profound or profitable than this! Often we are aware of this and we acknowledge it in the moment. Other times, we are almost entirely unaware of the value of what has been spoken until sometime later when it all comes together for us or for others.

Even this is consistent with what we read in the scriptures. There are moments when it is clear that God has enabled His chosen ones to speak a word of life, a word that led to real change in every way. I think of Joshua and Paul as classic examples of this reality.

Other times, words of life were spoken and they seemingly land with little or no obvious impact. Actually, Joshua and Paul can also be examples of this as well.

Sharing A Timely Word, In A Timely Way … Is Truly Wonderful That Is All I Can Say!

The truth is that God will anoint speakers to speak and hearers to hear … and when this happens it changes everything!

▪ is truly something that will bring supernatural possibility
▪ is truly something that will speak life
▪ is truly something that will stir our hearts deeply
▪ is truly something that will soothe every doubt
▪ is truly something that will shatter barriers
▪ is truly something that will seed our hearts with faith
▪ is truly something that will always be in season

Now, more than ever before, we need to see the wisdom of Proverbs 15:23 thrive in our hearts, take us to a new level in our lives and transform the church in every way.
