Transitions With An Undefined Timeline … Will Surely Test Us

Like you, I believe that God is at work in all things, at all times.

This, all by itself, changes my response and my perspective on everything.

Believing that things happen “for” us rather than “to” us will enable us to redeem everything back to God.

No matter what kind of transition we have to make … no matter how much disturbance or devour that it creates … or how long it lingers at our door … we can know that our God is at work … and that through it all, He will abide with us and actively engage to assure that we can gloriously overcome.

When we put all of this in play, we can take on any transition that comes our way!

Transitions With An Undefined Timeline … Will Surely Test Us!

Lacking clarity as to what we are dealing with and not knowing how long the threat will endure, are the very things that challenge us the most. We struggle to stage up any kind of meaningful response.

With this in mind, it would be quite common for us to feel the pressure that transitions with an undefined timeline create.

We know that they will …

▪ specifically test our trust capacity
▪ sincerely test our tenacity to endure
▪ strongly test the stability of our steadfast hearts
▪ spiritually test our faith to dare to step up and take our stand
These are the things that we always face in times of transition and it is critical that we guard our hearts and minds with all diligence.

At the same time, it is equally critical that we call into remembrance these three eternal realities …

▪ God is the Author and the Finisher of all things
▪ He has a plan and …
▪ His purposes will be fulfilled … in His time

These realities have long been thoroughly tested and they have never failed, so no matter how difficult our transition may become, or how long it may threaten us … these things remain!

Further, we can declare this …

▪ All that we can not know … is entirely known to Him
▪ Nothing is outside of His control
▪ Everything will resolve to His great pleasure
These things sustain us and give us strength.
Knowing that all that we lack can be found in Him will speak life and courage to us, even in our darkest hour.

Finally, we can confirm that there is great reward for those who meet this challenge.

The scriptures confirm that to us …

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9)

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right-hand (Isaiah 41:10)

We also know that after a very long and difficult transition …

▪ Abraham received his son of promise
▪ Jacob received the hand of Rachel
▪ Joseph received God’s blessing … for a number of things
These are great realities that are to be remembered in times when transitions with an undefined timeline come our way.

They will comfort us and carry us … and they confirm to us that we too, will come through all that we are currently facing as well.

These things I do believe … and my prayer is that this will be true for all of us!
