Fragile moments can be defined as those that we seemingly have no control over.

It is when we know that we are facing something that is beyond our capacities. We can neither comprehend nor come up with any possible solution. We are out of our depth and are almost forced to depend on God.

I have been there and confronting these moments never gets easier.

The truth is that this is the only position that we can take in troubled times. We cannot battle through them or assume that our boldness will win the day. In fragile moments the only thing that matters is that we know to whom we belong.

In the article, “What Does it Mean to Experience Intimacy with God?” the writer makes this observation. “God’s unfailing love allows us to walk on his truthful path. Deceit and denial are roadblocks to experiencing intimacy. We will be motivated to be honest with God even when the truth exposes sin and painful emotions because we will be confident, we will still be loved after acknowledging them.”

This is paramount to experiencing intimacy with God. We must be willing to walk in the light. It is this posture that brings fellowship with God into its fullest expression.

Fragile moments are deeply challenging, and we will struggle. Though we know that God is with us, many things will seek to rob us of our peace and keep us from resting in Him.

The article goes on to articulate that in fragile moments we will often need to contend with …

▪ Anxious thoughts: God doesn’t care
▪ Doubtful thoughts: God isn’t real
▪ Bitter thoughts: God is disappointing and unfair
▪ Fearful thoughts: God is too hard
▪ Guilty thoughts: God is going to punish me

These are the classic challenges that we will need to address, and we will want to ask the Lord to bring us to a place of renewal.

With Him and through Him we can do all things and we must remember that He is with us and for us … in all things, always!
