Focus is a powerful thing to embrace … and with clear focus we can live our lives in the most effective kind of way.

When focus is in play, our sense of mission is stronger and the reality of our mandate stirs within us as never before.

This is why I seek to begin every new year with a clear word from the Lord as to what I need to focus on in order to actively engage in all that He has destined and determined for me.

Here is what I believe God has spoken into my heart for 2022 …

Christ Above, Christ Alone, Christ In All … This Is Our Anthem, This Is Our Call

We begin this year with high levels of uncertainty.

Over the last two years we have learned that life can spin out of control very quickly. We find ourselves facing unknown challenges and trying to move forward with very little clear understanding as to what is coming next.

It would be quite common for our hearts to be completely overwhelmed and our spirits to be disturbed and troubled.

As I pondered these things in prayer, a very clear thought begin to develop deep within me and I want to share it with you.

“Our life journey is not something that we can stage up … but we can secure our destination”

The truth is that the moments and the movements of our lives are in His hands and He will execute them according to His will and purpose. We simply cannot stage up our life journey but we can secure our destination:

When we are certain that heaven is our destination, the life journey becomes seriously secondary. We hold earthly things lightly because our hearts are set on things eternal.

When we assume this position there is only one thing that resonates in our hearts …

It is Christ who promises to be with us, it is Christ who protects and provides for us and it is Christ who will prevail over us.

These realities make it quite clear that the life journey is not the focus … the focus is on the destination.

I know where I want to stay in 2022 and I would invite you to take this stand as well.
