Brussels Bombing … Learning Again What We Should Never Forget!

Today has been an emotional day!

What we are learning, once again, is that in all of the pain, there will always be things for which we can give God praise.

Here are some personal examples from today’s event for you to consider.
▪ A member of our Convoy of Hope team was traveling to Brussels to work from our international office, which is located just outside Brussels. His plane from the US landed at 0800, just after the bombings. He, his wife and other passengers were eventually moved to a remote location to be processed further as that became a possibility. They were rightfully stunned by all of this … but they were safe!
▪ Two students from our school, Continental Theological Seminary, were on their way to the airport to go to Ireland to begin a student ministry week. As they were approaching the Zaventem airport they saw what had just happened about 10-15 minutes before, so they turned around and returned to our campus. They were unharmed … and safe!
▪ A ministry friend was preparing to return to the US and as he was about to enter the airport he saw a burst of light. Then, almost as soon as he got inside, he heard the explosion. He literally left everything, ran for the door as ceiling tiles fell on his head. He was shocked … but safe!
▪ The president of our seminary confirmed that his wife regularly uses the metro that was bombed two times a day, Monday through Friday and she would have been on the train this morning except … yesterday was the first day of a two week Easter holiday for her. She remained at home in peace … and safe!

Absolutely stunning isn’t it!

In all of the pain there will always be things for which we can give God praise … and for all those who seek Him, there will also be … great peace.

It is for this peace that I am praying … and I know that you are doing the same!
